Frame question

Post by Scott62810 »

Hello great site. Quick question about the frame design is there a reason most frames are more square than rectangular? Im planing on building a six motor rov. 2 for forward, reverse. 2 for up, down. And 2 for side, side. I plan on uploading some plans to give u guys an idea of why 2 for each. But my design is more rectangular than most rov's ive seen thanks

welcome aboard!

I don't believe there is any rule that states rovs must be square. mine is slightly rectangular (12" l x 10" w x 10" h).

just play with the shape until you find what works best for your application.

if you are going to use 4 motors for lateral movement, I'd suggest putting them in the corners at 45 degree angles. this configuration seems to provide the most maneuverability.
