Battery power and thruster speed
I have rov and i'm currently running it with 12v battery. The motors don't run quick enough with it. If i put two battery's and make them 24v do the motors run faster and is this safe?

Hi,
Try to find markings on the motor about the type and voltage they can handle or google on the type to find a datasheet.

But if they can handle it do they run faster? Im newbie to electronics so can you say is this the only way to make them faster, to increase the voltage?

Most motors will run faster if they can handle it. But is not always more powerfull. A lot depends on the shape of the thrusters.

Hi Spierderman83,
That is difficult to tell each shape has its own strong and weak points. I would suggest to google a bit for boat props in relation to the type of ROV you are building so if you want to grab stuff and move it about look more for the tugboat type of prop. If you want a speedy machine go for a powerboat prop, to put it too simple.
Remember boat props generaly have a better forward then reverse mode. Which could hinder you steering.
