Higher the voltage, the lower the current. If you use an inverter ( they are getting cheap now) you need to allow for starting current of the motors, not just the rated running current. Your local refrigeration repair place is a good source for a wide range of plastic fans. They generally have a heap of second ones lying around of all sizes and shaft sizes.

I have condidered experimenting with a neutral bouyant machine with one appropriate pump and a number of solonoid controlled orfices acting as thrusters. By upping the voltage I could get away with a decent pump on smaller supply cable. Then one control wire for each valve and the common would be on...
